Ingredients

  • 1-1/2cups steel cut oats
  • 3cups water
  • 3cups milk (may use whole or reduced fat), divided
  • 2tablespoons pure maple syrup
  • 1cinnamon stick
  • 1/2teaspoon sea or kosher salt pinch ground nutmegrn
  • 1/4cup raisins or other dried fruit (for larger dried fruit varieties, chop into bite-size pieces)
Slow Cooker Maple Cinnamon Oatmeal

Directions

  • 1Put the oats, water, 1-1/2 cups of milk, maple syrup, cinnamon stick, salt, nutmeg and dried fruit into the pot of a slow cooker.
  • 2Cover and set to Low for 5-7 hours, checking near the end for desired consistency.
  • 3Switch to Keep Warm and stir the remaining milk into oatmeal. Remove cinnamon stick and serve immediately.
